This non-league matchup of South Puget Sound League’s Emerald Ridge Jaguars (5-2) and Heritage Timberwolves (2-5) was a challenging match-up on the Heritage schedule.
The first half was dominated by the Jaguars’ passing game as quarterback Tyler Martin went 9 for 10 and had two passing touchdowns.
Heritage’s offense was not able to string together many first downs, and their struggles were compounded by missteps from their special teams.
Three consecutive drives were started inside their own 10-yard line — two due to muffed kickoff returns. Their special teams did have a couple of highlights — a fake punt for a first down pass from Jacob Zepeda to Jared Padley and late in the game a precision punt by Jacob Zepeda that pinned Emerald Ridge on its own 1-yard line.
