Cade Bringhurst carded an even-par 72 at Capitol City Golf Course to rally to a 2A District IV individual title, finishing with a two-day total of 149. He shot a 77 on the first day of the tournament and sat in fourth. He edged out Woodland’s Gaige Pilot, who finished 76-77-153 for second place.

The Spudders qualified six golfers to state — Eli Saenz (fifth), Cruz Combs (eighth), Tyler Thompson (ninth), Nick Radosevich (11th) and Colby Andrew (16th) — as they eye another state title in the spring. The top 16 golfers qualify.

Woodland’s Dane Huddleston finished third (80-76-156) and Donovan Hix placed 11th to qualify. Other locals moving on include Columbia River’s Alden Fay, who finished third (77-79-156), and Ryan Snyder (ninth), R.A. Long’s Noah Gilchrist (fifth), and Washougal’s Oliver Evers and Chase Baldwin, who tied for 14th.

Also qualifying for the 10:30 a.m. finals was doubles team Max Firstenburg and Alex Miller, who won straight-set matches over W.F. West’s Jacob Blomdahl and Christian Iverson and Ridgefield’s Jonah Kropp and Mikey Nester. Firstenburg and Miller will meet two-time district champions Ben Haukaas and Gabe Slind, of Mark Morris.
