A 63-year-old Clark County Jail inmate died at a hospital Tuesday.

The unidentified man appears to have died of natural causes, according to a news release from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

On Oct. 17, the man returned from a meeting with his attorney and was seen “suffering from a medical condition” by jail staff, according to the sheriff’s office.

Medics immediately started treating him, and an ambulance was called. The man was taken to a hospital, where he had remained for several days in critical condition, the sheriff’s office said.

The man’s death is considered an in-custody death because he was incarcerated, deputies noted.
