Dog park organization to hold public meeting

An organization that maintains dog parks is seeking answers to questions about its future.

Dog Owners Group for Park Access in Washington, or DOGPAW, maintains four parks in Clark County. It is holding a meeting at 6 p.m. today at the Vancouver Community Library’s Columbia Room, according to a news release from the organization. Doors will open 15 minutes before the meeting.

The organization’s leadership is mulling what its role should be in the future, according to the news release. Specifically, the nonprofit is wondering if volunteers would like to assume additional roles, pay outside contractors or ask local governments to take on more responsibility for the parks.

DOGPAW maintains the off-leash areas at Pacific Community Park near Vancouver, Lucky Memorial Park in Brush Prairie, Hockinson Meadows Park and next to the BPA Ross Substation.
