Two people were displaced after an attic fire Monday inside a North Salmon Creek house.

Clark County Fire District 6 was dispatched at 3:36 p.m. to 13105 N.E. 6th Court. After arriving eight minutes later, firefighters noticed a working fire in the attic, Fire District 6 Battalion Chief Bryan Baum said.

The fire was extinguished within 10 minutes and mostly contained to the attic, Baum said. No injuries were reported.

For ventilation, firefighters opened part of the ceiling in the main part of the one-story, ranch-style house.

They also opened part of the roof above the attic.

Flames appeared to come from supply tubing connected to an HVAC system, Baum said. The Clark County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause and damage estimates.

Three engines and a squad car from Fire District 6 and one Vancouver Fire Department ladder truck responded to the scene.
