Evan Jenkins of Camas boys cross country is The Columbian fall sports prep athlete of the week for the week ending Oct. 19.
Jenkins beat out Sophia Carter of Prairie volleyball for the honor.
Jenkins placed eighth overall at the Warner Pacific XC Classic finishing in 15 minutes and 44 seconds.
Winners of athlete of the week may not be nominated again until the postseason. Individual nominations are limited to one per month.

- SOPHIA CARTER, PRAIRIE VOLLEYBALL: Carter had 41 kills, 20 digs, five aces and three blocks in two league wins.
- CADE BRINGHURST, RIDGEFIELD BOYS GOLF: Bringhurst won the 2A GSHL championship by four shots, shooting a 68 at Mint Valley.
- WILSON KELLER, COLUMBIA RIVER BOYS TENNIS: Keller won two league matches, then swept his way to the 2A sub-district singles title.
- BROOKE KIRBY, HERITAGE SLOWPITCH SOFTBALL: Kirby went 8 for 10 with two doubles, a triple and four RBI in three wins
