Weather Eye: Expect to see rain or showers tonight through Tuesday

Thanks to our latest weather system and frequent showers we have finally caught up in the rainfall department. Actually as of 5 p.m. Saturday, it was still raining at the weather station in Vancouver so we are upping the ante.

Rain or showers are in the forecast through Tuesday with steadier rain tonight tapering Monday and Tuesday.

Beyond that, high pressure builds inland and we enjoy a few sunny days with highs back to near normal. Meanwhile, Saturday afternoon watching the webcams in the Cascades the snow was falling.

At least two feet of new snow was expected this weekend in the higher mountains.

At the Washington coast it was crazy weather with high swells and sneaker waves running up to the dunes along the Long Beach Peninsula.

Our next storm tonight will be on the lame side. There were scattered thunderstorms Friday and Saturday across Western Washington and even a couple of waterspouts.

It was such a lazy beginning to autumn the first half of the month but we have made up for it and then some. The rain and wind have knocked a good share of autumn leaves off the trees. Observing the trees in Vancouver and out in the forest in Western Washington, I think they are the most colorful I have seen in a few years, what do you think?

Enjoy this half wet, half dry week and when skies clear, take a glance at the mountains with their fresh mantle of white.
