RIDGEFIELD — Students at Union Ridge Elementary School now have the opportunity to read books they created in the library’s “Kids Are Authors” section. Last year, each class from kindergarten through fourth grade created its own book, with each student contributing a page. The library section has books written by classes at Union Ridge Elementary School, as well as other places. Librarian Jubilee Roth welcomes students to continue creating their own stories and books of any genre, and the library will add it to the collection. “It’s a great way to challenge students,” Roth said in a news release. “Kids love to read books written by their peers. It gives them an authentic audience, kids reading work by other kids.” The school is looking for volunteers to help with binding and laminating books, and other tasks. For more information, contact jubilee.roth@ridgefieldsd.org.
