WHITE SALMON — King’s Way Christian scored 20 first quarter points to notch its the first Trico League victory, defeating Columbia-White Salmon 26-16.
Mason Packer threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Knights (3-4 overall, 1-2 league). Packer would also add two rushing touchdowns as the Knights capitalized on four first quarter turnovers by the Bruins.
Columbia fumbled the first play of the game, and the Knights recovered, marching 30 yards, capped by Packer’s 1 yard touchdown run. On the ensuing kickoff, King’s Way recovered the kickoff, and Packer connected with Bryson Metz on the next play for a 41 yard touchdown pass to take a 13-0 lead three minutes into the game.
The Knights immediately took a 20-0 lead when Packer found Kobi Cason on a 28 yard touchdown pass, after the Bruins fumbled the kickoff return.
