Metro Metals Northwest buys Tacoma company

Portland-based recycling business Metro Metals Northwest will likely double its exports at the Port of Vancouver after buying Simon Metals in Tacoma.

The purchase will reduce trucking recyclables between Portland and Vancouver, and will allow Metro Metals to ship out more bulk cargo ships, according to Recycling Today.

Metro Metals also bought Simon Metals’ Vancouver electronic-recycling operation at 2401 St. Francis Lane.
