College Notebook: Eversaul, WWU soccer kick into gear

Grace Eversaul and the Western Washington women’s soccer team are rolling along.

The junior midfielder from Skyview High has scored in two consecutive matches for the No. 12-ranked Vikings.

Western Washington improved to 10-2 this season with a 6-0 win over Saint Martin’s on Tuesday. Eversaul scored on a penalty kick, her third goal of the season.

Eversaul has started all 12 matches, anchoring the midfield for a team that has outscored opponents 36-3 this season.

The Environment Sciences major was on the Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Academic team last year with a 3.81 GPA.

Western Washington is 6-0 in GNAC play with six conference games to go.

Alyssa Tomasini, a junior from Camas, had two assists in Western Oregon’s 3-1 win over Montana State-Billings on Thursday. The Wolves are third in the GNAC at 3-2-1.

Men’s Soccer

Maxton Hauser, a sophomore from Ridgefield, scored the winning goal in The Evergreen State College’s 3-2 win over Warner Pacific on Sunday. Hauser’s goal in the 84th minute was his third of the season.

Sam Morris, a freshman from Hockinson, had five saves as Saint Mary’s (Minn.) beat Bethel 2-1 in overtime. The goalkeeper has started five straight matches for the Cardinals (5-8).

Cross Country

Gabriel Dinnel, a freshman from Washougal, helped Idaho place second at the Inland Empire Championships in Lewiston, Idaho. He finished 21st out of 99 runners, covering 8,000 meters in 24:31.

Volleyball

Hannah Lord, a senior from Heritage, had 17 kills for Northwest University over two matches last weekend. The Eagles notched 3-0 wins over Warner Pacific and Multnomah.

Ashley Watkins, a senior from Battle Ground, had a season high 56 assists in Montana’s five-set loss to Northern Arizona on Saturday. She also had nine digs.
