As long as rain is in our forecast for the foreseeable future, let’s review rainfall from September while we are at it.

OK, rainfall from your friends and neighbors. Claudia Chiasson, Carson, 5.07 inches; Rob Starr, Cougar, 12.33 inches; Robin Ruzek, Lake Shore, 5.30 inches; Phil Delany, above Dole Valley, 10.20 inches; Tyler Mode, Battle Ground, 5.02 inches; Judy Darke, Felida, 5.90 inches; Ellen Smart, Ridgefield, 5.50 inches; Jim Knoll, Five Corners, 5.13 inches; Murphy Dennis, Rawson Road near Clark Rifles, 9.04 inches; Irv St. Germain, Prune Hill, 4.18 inches; Larry Lebsack, Barberton, 5.87 inches; Chuck Houghten, Hockinson Heights, 7.51 inches; Dave Campbell, one mile west of Heisson, 5.41 inches and Bill Sobolewski, Livingston Mountain, 7.07 inches. Our friend Roland Dersken in Vancouver, B.C., had 6.35 inches. In comparison, the official rainfall for Vancouver USA was 4.06 inches, 2.50 inches above average.

Many weather observers reported their wettest September ever since keeping records and others, the second-wettest September. The reports above are more like November or December rainfall totals. And here we are halfway through October and we are really on the dry side.

But not for long, rain increases tonight and we will have periods of rain all the way through the weekend.
