The Port of Woodland and Woodland Public Schools plan to host a job fair called Woodland Works from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 24 at Woodland High School, 1500 Dike Access Road.

The fair is free for any job seekers looking for full- or part-time employment. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with representatives from more than 50 area employers including Atlas Plumbing Contractors, Burgerville, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Dick Hannah Dealerships, iQ Credit Union, Pape Machinery and Tidewater Barge Lines.

Woodland Works is also the name of an ongoing partnership between the port and the school district aimed at helping students build skills that will allow them to fill the ranks at local companies.

The fair was held last year under the title Woodland Days and was limited to students, but the event organizers said feedback from attendees prompted them to change the name and expand the fair to cover all job seekers.

The roster of attending companies is already full, according to the school district, but companies interested in attending future events can contact Sarah Hadaller at hadalles@woodlandschools.org.
