A two-vehicle rollover crash involving a wheelchair-accessible van in Vancouver sent one person to the hospital, according to the Vancouver Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched at 11:18 a.m. to the 1200 block of Southeast Ellsworth Road for a report of a crash.

Initially, a single fire engine responded, but when dispatchers learned that the crash involved two vehicles, one of which was the wheelchair van, another fire truck and Vancouver police were also called to the scene, Fire Capt. Raymond Egan said.

A fire crew righted the van and rescued an injured passenger, who had been in a wheelchair, Egan said. They were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries that are not life-threatening, he said.

The driver of the van and an occupant of the other vehicle, an SUV, were uninjured, according to the fire captain.

It was not immediately known what caused the crash.
