Bloodworks Northwest seeks donor monitors to keep a close eye on donors after giving blood to make sure they feel well before they leave. Duties include serving refreshments, scheduling appointments, and maintaining a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere for donors. Positions are available at each of the blood centers in Vancouver as well as at mobile sites. Daytime, evening and weekend opportunities are available.

City of Vancouver Water Resources Education Center is looking for garden and wetland volunteers to help make the gardens beautiful or to help in the upland and wetland areas near the Columbia River.

Clark County Food Bank needs volunteers for a variety of opportunities. A position as a nutrition education volunteer is ideal for people with a passion for cooking, teaching and nutrition. Special events assistants are needed to help with many events throughout the year. Receptionists are responsible for answering and directing phone calls, filing paperwork, light cleaning and customer service, greeting all those who walk through the front door.

Dog Owners Group for Park Access Washington (DOGPAW) invites members and other users of the organization’s off-leash dog parks to join in a clean up at 10 a.m. today at Ike Dog Park, 5167 N.E. 15th Ave. Bring work gloves and yard tools. Ridgefield Parks and Trails seeks volunteers to clean up the Sevier Road Neighborhood and Columbia Hills Open Space from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 9. Duties might include weeding, planting, trash removal, raking and sweeping, fence and picnic table painting, and more. Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes, dress for the weather and bring gloves.

Smith Tower seeks volunteers to meet with senior residents who need support with paperwork to qualify for hearing aids or glasses and financial aid from hospital visits, assist with Medicaid or food stamps applications, or possibly visit isolated individuals.
