A multihour standoff in a Hazel Dell neighborhood ended Saturday afternoon with the arrest of a 37-year-old man suspected of threatening his girlfriend and her daughter with a gun the previous day.

At 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jorge Delgado-Perez was arrested on suspicion of two counts of second-degree assault with a firearm and one count of felony harassment, all domestic violence-related. He is scheduled to make a first appearance Monday in Clark County Superior Court, according to the Clark County Jail’s roster.

Deputies on Friday responded to a call from a woman who said her boyfriend pointed a gun at both her and her daughter and threatened to kill them, according to a news release from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The victims called 911 again at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday to say the man had returned to the house, 2701 N.E. 82nd Way, where they all live. The woman and her daughter fled the home.

Sheriff’s detectives and members of the Southwest Washington Regional SWAT team rushed to the house. After the man refused to surrender, police obtained a search warrant.

Sgt. Pete Muller of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, speaking outside the Hazel Dell home, said police made numerous loud requests for the suspect to surrender, but the man refused to come out.

After several hours, police breached the door and used tear gas to apprehend him, Muller said.

“Everyone’s safe,” he said.
