ESTHER SHORT — The all-volunteer nonprofit and no-kill shelter Furry Friends raised $781 at the Peace and Justice Fair on Sept. 14, where they had a booth showing their adoptable cats and kittens. Volunteers Sandy Bush, a veterinary technician, and assistant Donna Hooker administered Avid FriendChip ID microchips to 11 dogs and cats, which could help owners locate their animal if they are lost. Additionally, five adoption applications were filled out. All together, the group raised $781 to help pay for medical costs for cats and kittens.
