The pivot from Thanksgiving to all things Christmas may include a few snowflakes later tonight, particularly at higher elevations and toward the Columbia River Gorge.

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a winter weather advisory for elevations above about 500 feet and in north Clark County. In effect from 10 p.m. tonight until 10 a.m. Sunday, it predicts as much as an inch of snow and a tenth of an inch of ice could coat roads. In the Columbia River Gorge, Stevenson could get an inch or two of snow overnight.

In Vancouver, clouds will increase all day, keeping the temperatures just above freezing. The wind will increase, with gusts to 25 mph today and up to 34 mph overnight. Sunday is expected to dawn rainy and windy, with conditions gradually improving during the day. Christmas tree hunting weather will be nearly perfect on Monday, if you have the opportunity, with sunshine, highs in the 40s and lighter winds.
