Ridgefield residents will once again spend this Thanksgiving season without a supermarket in town, but expect to see plenty of packed shopping carts leading up to the winter holidays.
The much-anticipated Rosauers Supermarket, 101 S. 47th Ave., has a ribbon-cutting scheduled for 9 a.m. Dec. 7. There will be grand opening celebrations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both that day and Dec. 8.
The store — which is expected to have a deli, bakery and a pizza oven — joined forces with nearby ilani for an opening weekend tailgate featuring face painting, local businesses and food.
Rosauers is part of the Discovery Ridge property at 45th Avenue and Pioneer Street, and it will anchor a four-phase development plan for the site. The first phase will be made up of Rosauers and retail space, which will see a dental clinic, orthopedic clinic and brewhouse.
