Rivals in the 4A Greater St. Helens League, the Camas and Skyview volleyball teams appropriately landed in the same final box of the 4A bi-district tournament.
They didn’t have to play that final match on the consolation side Saturday at Curtis Junior High in University Place, but both are going to the 4A state tournament.
Skyview will be the seventh seed and Camas eighth to state based on a coin flip.
The Papermakers eliminated Auburn 3-0 to get their state berth, but then lost to Puyallup 3-0 to move into the 7th/8th box.
The Storm eliminated Kentwood 3-1 for the state berth, then fell to Auburn Riverside 3-1 to also move into that 7th/8th box.
The 4A state tournament is Nov. 22-23 at the Yakima SunDome. The brackets will be announced on Sunday by the WIAA.
