Firm Foundation volleyball survived the first day of the 1B State Tournament on Thursday at the Yakima SunDome.

After losing a five-set bout to Puget Sound Adventist in the morning, the Eagles recovered to sweep Shoreline Christian in the evening games to advance to Friday consolation play.

They will face league foe Naselle at 8 a.m. Friday in a loser-out match. A win would secure a medal and spot in the seventh-place game.
