Columbia Little League is looking for board members to assist with the management of the property and affairs of the program once a month. Training materials are given and trainees will shadow other board members.

Columbia River Mental Health Services provides behavioral health and recovery services that transform the lives of children, adults and families in the communities of Southwest Washington. Volunteer mentors are needed to meet with a child each week in need of support through life’s challenges. Clerical assistants and urinalysis techs (must be a male volunteer tech) are also needed.

Evergreen Public Schools Art Discovery seeks volunteers to prepare materials for theme-based art lessons to elementary students, present and discuss the provided visuals and assist the students to complete the project.

FISH of Vancouver has a variety of volunteer opportunities available, including front room monitors, closers, clothing room, food box window and warehouse helpers, janitors, hosts/hostess, Snack Sack Assistants, and food sorters. Shifts are Monday through Friday, mornings or afternoons.

The Salvation Army seeks Red Kettle Bell ringers to ring the bell, wish shoppers a joyous holiday season, and raise the much-needed funds to support The Salvation Army’s services and programs throughout the year.

Other opportunities

Union Ridge Elementary seeks donations for SOCKtober. Donated socks will be distributed to the needy during the winter. The goal is to collect 3,000 pairs of socks. Donations can be delivered to the main office at Union Ridge Elementary School, 330 N. Fifth Ave. in downtown Ridgefield.

Volunteers are needed to assist with serving food at a Thanksgiving dinner open to the public at the Vancouver United Church of Christ from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 28. Volunteer drivers are also needed to deliver food to people unable to attend the event. Food donations of ham and turkey, green bean casserole and pie with whipped cream are also accepted.
