Nominations for the Marshall Adult and Youth Leadership Awards are now open, according to The Historic Trust and the city of Vancouver.
The annual award recognizes leadership, civic engagement and commitment to public service. The award was created to honor Gen. George C. Marshall, who lived for two years at Fort Vancouver serving as the commander of the 5th Brigade of the 3rd Division U.S. Army.
“We are pleased to continue the annual Marshall Leadership Awards, recognizing Vancouver’s up and coming community leaders,” David Pearson, CEO and president of The Historic Trust, said in a media release.
One adult, 35 years or younger, with a four-year college degree, and one high school senior will be selected for each award. The winners will be announced at the Marshall Award ceremony and dinner on March 19 at WareHouse ’23.
Nominations close Jan. 10 and nominees’ applications are due Feb. 7. For more information on the nomination process, visit www.thehistorictrust.org/marshall-awards/.
