SEATTLE — Evergreen was stopped on its final possession in the closing minutes to fall short in a 3A state preliminary playoff in Seattle.
Tae Marks scored on touchdowns passes of 60 and 40 yards in the second half for Evergreen.
After the second Marks TD, the Plainsmen recovered an onside kick with less than four minutes to play. But Garfield’s defense stopped the Plainsmen’s comeback attempt.
Zyell Griffin caught touchdown passes of 14 and 23 yards in the second quarter as Evergreen rallied to tie the game 14-14. Monda threw four touchdown passes.
