Police officers with Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife are investigating the poaching of a pregnant doe in the Battle Ground area.
Someone left the doe near Northeast Berry Road, according to a statement from officer Van Vladricken, which was posted wildlife police department’s Facebook page.
“The doe was found with multiple bullet wounds and had twin fawns (both male) days away from being born,” Vladricken said.
The deer is believed to have been shot between the evenings of May 23 and 24. It was found days later.
Photos of the killed doe and its unborn fawns are attached to the department’s Facebook post. The photos are graphic and some readers may find them upsetting.
Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the culprits or vehicles that may have been involved.

Tipsters who provide information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward or bonus points for special permit hunting opportunities.
