EAST VANCOUVER — Mill Plain Elementary School held an Art and Culture Fair on May 16, where students shared stories about who they are and what cultures make up the school. There was a free dinner of traditional food from different parts of the world provided by the school and parents. Students observed ethnic dancers from the community, showed research projects, and participated in an art walk. As part of the festivities, students also worked with an artist in residency to create pieces that represent the Pacific Northwest, which will permanently decorate the entrance at the school.
