Police identify alleged Parkrose HS gunman

Suspect is 18-year-old student at Portland-area school

Portland police have identified the suspect in Friday morning’s firearms incident at Parkrose High School in the Portland area.

Angel Granados Dias, 18, was booked into a detention center on suspicion of  Possession of Firearm in a Public Building, Attempting to Discharge a Firearm at a School, Reckless Endangerment, and Possession of a Loaded Firearm in a Public Place.

Police say he was carrying a shotgun, which was also booked into evidence.

Shortly after Dias entered the school, he was accosted and restrained by a staff member. No one was reported injured.

Dias was reported to be depressed, and mental health professionals are aiding with the investigation.
