Beginning at 8 a.m. today, the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office is lifting the temporary burn ban that was imposed last week.
Fire Marshal Jon Dunaway said it’s safe to lift the ban due to forecasted rainy weather this week.
“We are set to get a healthy dose of rain this week. That forecast, along with what rain is falling currently, gives us enough confidence to lift the burn ban,” he said in a news release.
The Department of Natural Resources will also reset the fire danger on DNR-protected lands from moderate to low. The change opens those areas up for permitted and rule burning, the county news release says.
Dunaway urged people to follow the rules outlined on their burning permit, and make sure their burn pile is completely extinguished and cooled off before leaving it unattended.
