Two drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries Tuesday morning following a three-vehicle crash involving an Evergreen Public Schools bus.

Vancouver Fire Department crews and Clark County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched around 8:20 a.m. to the intersection of Northeast 76th Street and 131st Avenue, near Heritage High School, for a report of an injury crash.

An initial investigation determined that a Toyota Matrix was northbound on 131st Avenue when its driver ran a stop sign at the intersection with 76th Street, according to a Clark County Sheriff’s Office news release.

The Toyota entered the intersection and struck an eastbound Subaru Crosstrek, which was pushed into opposing lanes of 76th Street and hit a westbound school bus, deputies said.

A firefighter on scene requested a second ambulance for “a couple of patients,” according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian. The driver of each vehicle suffered minor injuries while the students on board the bus were uninjured, according to the sheriff’s office.

The driver of the Toyota was issued a citation for failing to obey a traffic control device. The sheriff’s office did not identify anyone involved.
