Cemetery Stewards is hosting an orientation and training meeting from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Old City Cemetery. Volunteers will trim grass around headstones, pull weeds and complete other upkeep tasks. Everyone under 18 needs a signed consent form to volunteer without a parent or guardian.

Columbian Springs is looking for field guide translators to translate guides into Spanish and Russian for students who attend field trips to Columbia Springs. For more information call 360-882-0936.

Vancouver Parks and Recreation, Parks Foundation of Clark County and Vancouver’s Downtown Association are partnering to host a summer flower planting from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 18 at Propstra Square in Esther Short Park. Volunteers can choose from a variety of projects including flower planting, weed pulling, sweeping, general cleanup and more. Please bring gloves, kneeling pads, trowels or other tools for the cleanup. Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP on the city of Vancouver’s website.

Friends of Trees is looking for summer inspectors to visit a neighborhood-based route two times over the course of the summer to check on two dozen recently planted trees. The training session for inspectors will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 18 at Columbia Springs. “Tree Team” T-shirts will be provided. Please register in advance. The Hearthwood Park Work Party takes place from 10 a.m. to noon today at Hearthwood Park. Volunteers of all ages may help pick up litter, remove invasive plants, spread mulch and more. Please wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and bring work gloves. Lifeline Connections is looking for a recovery resource center host to greet visitors, sell merchandise and answer the phone. Licensed barbers and hairstylists are also needed to provide haircuts to residents. For more information call 360-397-8246.

Naturescaping of Southwest Washington requires a garden coordinator volunteer to help maintain 10 gardens at the Wildlife Botanical Gardens. Schedules are flexible, but require a continuous time commitment. Gardening experience is not necessary. For more information call 360-737-1160.

Treesong Nature Awareness and Retreat Centers needs social media gurus to post about events, programming and general information about the arts, nature, and human well-being. Volunteers will also monitor social media accounts and respond to communications, and help with general office tasks such as filing and data entry. For more information call 360-837-8733.
