The Clark College baseball team closed out the NWAC South regular season with a split of a doubleheader against Mt. Hood on Saturday at Kindsfather Field.
Mt. Hood scored six runs in the top of the ninth to beat the Penguins in the first game 8-7.
Clark came back to win the second game 4-2 with Mountain View grad Trevor Moore going the distance on the mound for a three-hit win. He struck out four and walked one.
Campbell Dace was 3 for 3 with a solo home run, and Jack Fletcher had two RBI.
In the first game, Ridgefield High grad Jeremy Martin was 2 for 3 with two RBI, and Mountain View grad Lucas Gregory knocked in two runs.
The Penguins conclude the season 21-25 overall, 10-14 in the NWAC South.
TRACK AND FIELD — Clark’s Jett Pham-Cromb won the men’s 100-meter dash at the Southern Region Championships on Saturday at Eugene. The Prairie High grad posted a time of 10.69 seconds. Hockinson grad Micah Kinnunen was third (10.88) for Clark.
Micah Goff, a Union High grad, won the 5000 in 16:30.67.
Zack Hofschneider won the hammer (45.77m), and Evergreen High grad Scott Thurman was third (41.13).
Pham-Cromb was third in the 400 hurdles (57.93); Heritage grad Kyle Bare was third in the 800 (2:02.44) with teammate Kevans Kaame fourth (2:02.73); Woodland’s Kolten Snyder was third in the javelin (52.37m); Dominic Lee was third in the long jump (6.88m); and Zoey Pitts was third in the women’s 400 hurdles (1:07.73).
The Clark men finished third with 114 points behind Lane (266) and Clackamas (175.5). The Clark women were sixth. Lane won the meet with 255.5.
