Two students were taken to the hospital as a precaution Tuesday morning after a pickup rear-ended a school bus in north Clark County.

First responders were dispatched at 7:10 a.m. to Northeast 241st Avenue and Worthington Road for a report of a traffic crash.

A Ford F-150 pickup was moving at fair speed when it struck the school bus from behind,  Clark County Fire District 13 Chief Shaun Ford said. The speed limit on the road is 50 mph, with some winding spots such as the turnoff near 241st Avenue decreasing to 35 mph. The pickup driver did not attempt to stop, and the truck’s front-end was crushed, Ford said.

There were 10 students and the driver aboard the bus, which was headed to Battle Ground High School, according to the fire chief. Two students were taken to a hospital, but they were not seriously injured, he said.

The crash closed Worthington Road for about 15 minutes, Ford said.
