Local law enforcement participating in a Cinco de Mayo patrol emphasis Friday arrested three people on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants.
The Vancouver and Battle Ground police departments, Clark County Sheriff’s Office and state Liquor and Cannabis Board joined increased DUI patrols, according to a Vancouver police press release. The patrols were funded through a grant from the state Traffic Safety Commission and are part of a year-round effort to curb drunken and drugged driving around holidays.
Officers made 60 total contacts, Vancouver police said. Additionally, they made five arrests unrelated to DUI, and drivers were handed 15 citations and 38 warnings.
