Thomas Jefferson Middle School student spends week in Olympia as House page

Felida — Lex Smith, a student at Thomas Jefferson Middle School, served as a page recently in the state House of Representatives. Lex was sponsored by Rep. John Lovick, D-Mill Creek. Pages assume a wide variety of responsibilities, including presenting the flags to distributing amendments on the House floor. They also receive daily civics instruction, draft their own bills and participate in mock committee hearings.
