WASHOUGAL — Following January’s “Moms and Muffins” event, Gause Elementary School hosted its seventh annual “Donuts with Dads” on March 21. Students arrived before school to enjoy a doughnut and read a book with their father or other adult. An estimated 300 people mingled in the cafeteria, with some dad-student pairs sitting on the floor to read. There also was a book raffle, which allowed students to choose a friend when their number was drawn and pick out a new book together. Books were purchased through a grant from the Washougal Schools Foundation.
