Both directions of state Highway 14 were closed for more than four hours Wednesday following a semitruck rollover at Milepost 23 near Washougal.

The Washington State Department of Transportation said in a tweet that the crash occurred about 9:20 a.m. west of Cape Horn. The semi tipped and spilled plywood on both lanes of the highway.

Investigators found that the truck took a curve too fast and tipped, Washington State Patrol Trooper Will Finn said. The driver was not injured but was cited for second-degree negligent driving, which carries a $550 fine.

WSDOT advised motorists to consider delaying travel or using an alternate route during the closure. Finn said officials at the scene predicted a lengthy cleanup.

The highway reopened around 1:40 p.m.
