The Clark Conservation District is hosting a free six-week workshop series on watersheds and water quality issues in the county.
This year, the watershed stewardship classes will focus on the Gee Creek and Whipple Creek watersheds. The weekly classes will explore a different topic each session, including the watersheds, fish and wildlife, and surface and groundwater.
The workshop sessions are 6 to 8 p.m. on Mondays, April 15, 22, 29 and May 5, 13, and 20.
The program is free, but participants will be required to donate eight hours of community service to promote awareness of watershed health and actions to reduce stormwater runoff, according to the district.
Course participants must pre-register by April 8. Learn more or sign up online through the district’s website, www.clarkcd.org. For questions, email asmithers@clarkcd.org or call 360-859-4782.
