Prep Highlights: Mountain View soccer opens league play with win

Nathan Purvis scored two goals and Christopher Grozav had a goal and an assist to lift Mountain View to a 4-0 win over Fort Vancouver to open 3A Greater St. Helens League play in boys soccer Tuesday night at McKenzie Stadium.

Goals by Purvis and Grozav made it a 2-0 Thunder lead at halftime and a penalty-kick made by Purvis pushed the lead to 3-0 in the second half. Kenneth Brown’s goal off a Adam Haagenson assist completed Mountain View’s scoring.

Cole Taylor had one save in goal to earn the shutout.

• Sean Fox, La Center boys soccer, had three goals and assisted two more in La Center’s 6-2 win over Castle Rock.

• Carleigh Risley, Woodland softball, went 2 for 3 with four RBI and three runs scored in a 10-0 win over Heritage.

• Olivia Grey, Woodland softball, threw a 5-inning perfect game, striking out 12 Heritage batters.

• Addi Macpherson, Skyview softball, went 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBI in an 8-5 win over Columbia River. She was also the winning pitcher, striking out five over seven innings.

• Grant Heiser, Camas baseball, went 2 for 3 with two runs, three RBI and two doubles in an 11-0 win over Heritage.

• Olivia Knight, King’s Way Christian softball, went 2 for 2 with a triple, double and three runs scored in a 12-2 win over Ridgefield’s junior varsity.

• Schelby Greene, Union softball, went a combined 4 for 6 with a home run, and four RBI in tournament games against Oregon schools Parkrose and Sandy.

• Travis Wiese, Union baseball, went 2 for 4 with three runs, three RBI and a double in a 15-7 win over Battle Ground.

• Nick Alder, Columbia River baseball, threw a complete-game four-hitter with seven strikeouts in the Chieftains’ 2A GSHL opening win over Woodland.

• Andrew Seldon, Mountain View baseball, allowed one hit and struck out seven in six innings in a 4-0 shutout of Evergreen.

• Emma Cox, Camas girls golf, shot a 3-over 35 at The Cedars to earn medalist honors in the Papermakers’ dual-match win over Battle Ground.

• Alysia Fraly, Prairie softball, went 2 for 3 with a solo home run, two runs scored and two RBI in a 5-1 win over Battle Ground.

• Jonathan Prado, Hudson’s Bay boys soccer, posted 10 saves in goal for a 1-0 shutout of Kelso.
