Nominees for Week 2 spring sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday.

Here are the nominees for The Columbian spring sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending March 23.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

BRANDON CONNELL, STEVENSON BASEBALL: Connell threw a perfect game, striking out 18 of 21 batters faced in a 5-0 win over Irrigon, Ore.

EMMA COX, CAMAS GIRLS GOLF: Cox earned medalist honors in matches against Columbia River and Heritage, shooting a 38 against Heritage.

CHRISTIAN MARTIN, SETON CATHOLIC BOYS SOCCER: Martin had six goals and two assists in three league wins for the Cougars.

NOLAN MICKENHAM, PRAIRIE BOYS TRACK AND FIELD: Mickenham won the 100 and 200 at the Tiger Invitation, setting a meet record in the 200 of 22.07 seconds.

GIOVANNA RHOADS, COLUMBIA RIVER GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD: Rhoads won the high jump, long jump and triple jump at the Tiger Invite in Battle Ground.
