Saturday was a predictable March day, a few showers, sunbreaks and high temperatures right at “normal,” which is 59 degrees. Today we see a little nicer weather. The break will be brief as yet another spring-type weather system rolls in for Monday. A few hours of light rain, then a break then showers. The rest of the week has a chance of showers but nothing heavy.
This week is spring break for much of Oregon so weather behaves predictably not on its best behavior. Looking ahead for our spring break in Washington, it appears if long range weather charts are correct, as schools let out Friday, the sun will be shining and continue through the weekend. Spring break in Washington may fair better than this week. Fingers crossed.
At least there is no snow in our future. I want to mention though on March 22, 2012, we had a very unusual weather pattern set up and many areas here in Clark County had up to four inches of snow. The most snow so late in the season. Remember that event?
I remember it well. I made a snowman in my yard. Four days later, I was basking in the sun on a bench along the Columbia River under azure clear skies and sunshine. Oh how the weather can change so quickly. But like I say, March is a fickle month. Wintery one day and spring-like the next.
Did you notice towering puffy clouds yesterday? Another sure sign of spring. Perhaps more of that this week.
