Law enforcement responded to reports of a threat at Jason Lee Middle School in the Vancouver school district Wednesday, which were deemed not credible.

The school was placed into lockdown for about 20 minutes after students told an associate principal they’d received threatening text messages from another student, according to an email sent to parents. The district did not indicate the nature of the text messages but said investigators determined there was no threat to students or staff.

“We take all threats seriously, and we are grateful that our students reported this to our associate principal,” school staff said in the email.

Jason Lee Middle School is at 8500 N.W. Ninth Ave., in Hazel Dell.
