Georgia-Pacific plans to invest about $30 million to boost efficiency and improve product quality at its Rome Lumber Mill in Warrenton, Ga., the firm announced in a news release.
Under the plan, the company will acquire and install new equipment at the dimensional lumber facility, including a planer, grader and trimmer. A new sorter will be purchased to increase service from 26 bays to 56 bays in the mill.
Georgia-Pacific acquired the Rome Lumber Mill in 2013 during its acquisition of International Paper’s Temple-Inland Building Products division.
