A man who was armed with a knife when he robbed an east Vancouver bank remained at large late Thursday.

Vancouver police responded at 3:41 p.m. to Heritage Bank at 16400 S.E. 18th St., for a report of a robbery. A man entered the bank wearing a black ski mask and brandished a knife, and no injuries were reported, Vancouver Police Sgt. Aaron Gibson said.

While a man was detained a few blocks away just after 4 p.m., he was determined not to be the robbery suspect, department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.

The suspect was additionally described as middle-aged with facial hair and wearing a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, Gibson said.
