Clark County is seeking to fill a vacancy on a five-person panel that advises the county council on controlling noxious weeds.

Board members serve four-year renewable terms. The open position is for a term that will expire Dec. 31, 2020.

The Noxious Weed Control Board meets four times a year, usually on a Monday morning at the 78th Street Operations Center, 4700 N.E. 78th St.

According to a county press release, applicants for the open position must live in District 2, which is bounded by Northeast 99th Street on the north, the Clark/Skamania county line on the east, the Columbia River on the south and Northeast 50th Avenue on the west. A map showing the five districts is available on the board’s webpage, www.clark.wa.gov/public-works/weed-board.

The county is encouraging volunteers actively engaged in farming or ranching, including growing Christmas trees, hay or grapes, or raising cattle or other livestock in the east Vancouver, Camas, Washougal and south Hockinson areas to apply.

Application packets are available by calling 360-397-6140 or emailing weed.board@clark.wa.gov.

Applications must be submitted to the Weed Board, 4700 N.E. 78th, St., Vancouver, WA 98665, no later than 5 p.m. April 30.
