The Battle Ground Public Schools Board of Directors selected Rob Henrikson to fill the District 2 director position left vacant after Ken Root’s resignation in February.
Henrikson graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1981. His wife is a special education assistant at Tukes Valley Middle School, and all five of their children have attended Battle Ground Public Schools. He volunteers in the district announcing boys and girls soccer games.
The district’s school board is expected to swear him in at Monday’s board meeting. Henrikson works for the Developmental Disabilities Administration in the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, and has a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and an associate degree from Clark College.
“I believe that serving the community is very important,” Henrikson said during the application process, according to a release from the district. “I am passionate about working with and advocating for the youth of our community. I want to do this and represent the community.”
