Ridgefield — At its Feb. 12 meeting, Ridgefield School District’s board recognized the February employee and students of the month. Christine “Chris” Petersen, head secretary at Ridgefield High School, was named Employee of the Month. Blakeley Gardner, a South Ridge Elementary School fourth-grader, was honored because of the ways she looks to help those around her, and doing so in a gentle, caring manner. Union Ridge Elementary School’s Student of the Month was third-grader Leela Weeks, whom teachers described as a hard worker who likes to challenge herself to go the extra mile. Sixth-grader Sara Tabish was named Student of the Month at Sunset Ridge Intermediate School because she is respectful and treats everyone like a friend. Stuart Swingruber, a View Ridge Middle School seventh-grader, was honored as a hardworking student who is polite and strives for excellence. Ridgefield High School senior Bobbi Wilson was named Student of the Month for her growth as student and raising her GPA every semester.
