Council for the Homeless extended its severe weather alert that prompts shelters to expand capacity. The alert continues through Saturday night and asks additional warming centers to consider opening, such as Living Hope Church and the Washougal Community Center.

Those seeking shelter can call the Housing Solutions Center at 360-695-9677. For more information about which warming centers are open, visit http://211info.org/warmingcenters#clark.

The Vancouver Navigation Center at 2018 Grand Blvd. is open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily for those trying to get out of the elements during the day.
