Big inning helps Corvallis rout Raptors 13-1

The Corvallis Knights blew open a close game with a nine-run eighth inning to post a second consecutive win over the Raptors on Wednesday.

KEY MOMENTS: The game was put out of reach in the eighth inning when the Knights had their first 10 batters reach base en route to a nine-run inning.

KEY PLAYERS: Jonny Weaver got the game off to a good start for the Raptors with his leadoff double. He took third on a wild pitch and scored the game’s first run on Brody Barnum’s groundout. Steve Ramirez went 2 for 3 with a walk for Ridgefield. Eli Schubert retired all three batters he faced in the eighth inning to halt Corvallis’ rally.

NEXT GAME: Ridgefield (10-6) at Corvallis (10-6), 6:35 p.m. Thursday. (Radio: FM 99.9). The Raptors return home to play Walla Walla on Friday night.
