Raptors Recap: Corvallis 7, Ridgefield 3

Three-time defending West Coast League champion Knights pounded out 10 hits Tuesday and got out of a few jams to take the first game of the three-game series at Oregon State’s Goss Stadium. The Knights won their fourth straight and moved into a second-place tie with the Raptors in the WCL South Division. Ridgefield stranded 10 baserunners including eight in scoring position.

KEY MOMENTS: Corvallis scored five run on five hits with two Ridgefield errors in the first inning to take a 5-2 lead. … Ridgefield had runners at second and third with one out in the sixth inning and failed to score.

KEY PLAYERS: Ridgefield’s Steve Ramirez had three of the Raptors’ six hits, going 3 for 4 with two RBI. He is hitting .348 with a five-game hit streak.
