Battle Ground — Firm Foundation Christian School students frequently have service opportunities, and this year the school added another chance to give back by holding “Serve Day” in May. It allowed students in every grade to serve in the local community. The youngest elementary students prepared crafts and cards, while the middle school culinary arts students baked cookies, which third-, fourth- and fifth-graders took to local nursing homes. Students also performed songs and spent time in conversation with residents. Middle and high school students worked on a Habitat for Humanity building project, as well as assisted local food banks, Camp Hope and Lewisville Park.
